Lila Landis, LCB CUSECO (R) CCEP-I CGSS

Lila Landis is a Licensed Customs Broker, Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer, Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional International, and Certified Global Sanctions Specialist who has been in global compliance and logistics for over 15 years. Lila earned her Global MBA from the University of Houston-Victoria, Texas.  Lila has built and managed compliance programs in the defense, industrial manufacturing, oil & gas, logistics and chemicals industries with special emphasis on customs compliance, training, Free Trade Agreement programs, foreign import/export compliance, and Global Trade Management software implementation. She specializes in building compliance programs and communicating complex compliance regulations in simple terms that are relevant to business. Fluent in French and Spanish, Lila studied abroad in graduate school and has managed international teams in leadership roles in large corporations.

Lila has worked directly with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Focused Assessments, broker compliance reviews, CTPAT validations, broker management questions, ACE testing, and Section 321 and Type 86 proposed changes.

During the negotiations for the United States-Canada-Mexico Agreement (USMCA), Lila worked with the office of Senator Rob Portman (R - Ohio) to present a new rule for chemical mixtures and blends to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) that was accepted in the final version as Rule 3: Mixtures and Blends Rule in Sections VI and VII.

Lila is the founder of the Dallas-Fort Worth ICPA DATA Group, a local networking group for trade compliance professionals, and supports leaders of trade compliance networking groups through the International Compliance Professionals Association (ICPA) in cities across the U.S.. Lila is a board member of the National Association for Small Business International Trade Education (NASBITE), a member of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trade Support Network (TSN), an advisor to the University of Houston Women in Leadership program,  and a contributor to the WorldECR Industry Panel.
